About Kane
Kane Williams believes that the pen is mightier than the sword (and asks that you kindly don’t tell Excalibur he said that). Yet you’ll often find his characters with sword in hand.
Perils of the Past, his debut fast-paced fantasy novel, draws closer to publication. For this manuscript, Kane was a 2023 Killer Nashville Claymore Award Finalist for Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy.
He also pens flash fiction and the occasional short story. His flash fiction piece titled Rice & Ice won Press 53’s July 2023 competition and featured in Prime Number Magazine (issue 241) and the anthology What Dwells between the Lines.
Previously, he wrote non-fiction and was published by Thomson Reuters in 2018.
He lives in Sydney but was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. Kane spent his youth adventuring on land and sea, on a soccer pitch or with his nose in a book—when he wasn’t fighting dragons that is.
By day, he works for a large charity helping to facilitate ground-breaking research (like clinical trials on COVID-19 vaccines and anti-cancer drugs) through writing its research contracts. At night, he’s back at the keyboard, gleefully throwing characters into life-threatening situations on strange worlds.
How much can you learn about a person from books and movies they like? What about those that they recommend to others?
