Pure chaos grips the mansion’s moonlit gallery, with every painting rattling.
“This is no ordinary ghost,” I say.
The owner whimpers.
I burn incense and chant made-up words. A window shatters, and the ghost is gone.
Gone to the next mansion we selected. We banded together a while back; it’s proven quite profitable.
Afterword
The mission: to write a 53-word piece about a “band”.
My first ideas involved a wedding band (i.e., wedding ring) or a band of musicians. Like usual, I was keen to avoid the typical though.
Science fiction and fantasy (SFF) is difficult with so few words, but ghosts are well-understood (and fun).
This piece evolved accordingly.
